Who is the Right Person for my Appointment?
GP
If a patient’s condition cannot be cared for by the various members of the nursing team this will be handled by one of our GP’s.
Registrar/FY2
These doctors are fully qualified and completing their training, they care for the same conditions as our GP’s.
Advanced Nurse Practitioner
In addition to the nursing team, our Advanced Nurse Practitioner can triage, diagnose and treat patients.
They are also able to prescribe medications.
Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants
Can deal with many conditions including:
- Diarrhea and vomiting
- Chest infections
- COPD
- Asthma
- Upper respiratory infections
- Urine infections
- Sinus problems
- Ear infections
- Back & Shoulder pain
- Minor trauma
- Wounds
- Flu symptoms
- Eye infections
- Skin infections
- Rashes
- Minor head injury
- Palpitations without chest pain
Nurses
Routine appointments are available most days with a nurse, for wound care, dressings, vaccinations, smears, swabs, minor injuries and suture and clip removal.
They also perform routine contraception and HRT reviews.
Healthcare Assistants
These appointments are available daily for routine health checks such as blood pressure monitoring, hypertension annual review, long term condition checks, cardiovascular screening checks and weight management, NHS Health Checks.
First Contact Physio
Can help with physical problems muscle pain, back pain, shoulder injuries etc. Appointments can be booked by reception without seeing a GP first.
