Telephone lines are open from 8:00am weekdays. It is recommended that you telephone the reception at 8:00am on the day you wish to be seen. We have a number of face to face and telephone appointments available.
You can contact us online to request a non-urgent appointment.
If you feel you require an urgent appointment please telephone the practice on 01384 889410 from 8.00am and our staff will accommodate you where possible. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee same day appointments, but we do try and offer alternatives which include telephone consultations.
In a number of cases, your appointment will be with an Advanced Clinical Practioners (ACP), who can prescribe medication if required or a Physician’s Associate (PA) (non - prescriber) rather than a doctor. These clinicians are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen/contacted more quickly.
Many problems can be dealt with over the telephone. Doctors, Nurses, Physician Assistants will call you back at some point during the day. The call may come from a blocked number.
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible.
In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception on 01384 889410 before 11:00am, this will enable the clinicians to plan their work.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. The GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.
Extended hours are available in our local area which gives you the opportunity to see a GP or a nurse out of our core hours. There will be appointments available at:

There are occasions when patients need to be assessed by a GP or Nurse which might involve intimate examinations.
This practice is committed to putting patients at ease whenever possible, and if you wish a chaperone to be present during your examination please do not hesitate to ask when you attend your appointment.
Any patient can request an interpreter if their first language is not English. This service should be requested when the appointment is booked.
If you present at the practice for a booked appointment for a procedure (for example a vaccination) you will be deemed to have consented for treatment. In some cases, for instance minor surgery procedures, your signed consent is required.
You will be offered a health check when you join the practice. Any patients aged 16 –74 years who have not had a consultation within the last three years may request a consultation.
Patients 75 years and over who have not had a consultation within the last twelve months may request a health check with one of our practice team. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit could be arranged.
Please let us know by telephone or by replying to your text message if you are unable to attend, or no longer require an appointment that you have booked. This will give the opportunity to someone else to use this appointment.
By not contacting the surgery in advance it has the following effects:
If you do not attend a booked appointment without letting us know, you will receive a letter from us reminding you of our policy. If you DNA 3 times within a 12 month period you may be removed from the practice list and will have to find an alternative general practitioner.
You can also contact us online to let us know if you need to cancel or change your appointment.
Between 6:30pm and 8:00am Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and on Bank Holidays your call will be redirected to the NHS 111 service.
In a genuine emergency, you should call 999. Chest pains and/or shortness of breath constitute as an emergency.
We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.
To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
